TIME-BASED / MEDIA ART

Infrequency

Interactive installation (2016)
Selected piece for ‘Sculpting Sound 2016 - Sound Scene’, The Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, Washington DC

Infrequency is an interactive art installation that encourages people to add their own voices to the work and to give voice to issues that affect society today. Viewers/listeners are invited to speak into the microphone in front of the screen displaying many of the injustices in today's world; the louder they speak truth to power and name these injustices into the mic, the more they uncover the underlying work being done by activists, concerned citizens, and those who are working to make the world a better, more peaceful place. A collaboration between sound artist Michael Austin and Mona Kasra (digital media).
